;GAIN
This is how gain is applied to the EW-D SKM-S handheld microphone transmitter or EW-D SK bodypack transmitter for lavalier microphones and instruments. Typically for general speaking the gain should be set around 15 to 18 dB. You will need to adjust this depending on the type of microphone, the talker, and the distance from the microphone.
Closer to 0 dB applies less gain and further above 0 dB applies more gain. If you apply too much gain to the microphone the input will overload and the AF level will peak and the audio will be clipped.  The gain should be set so the LINK LED flashes yellow only lights up during the loudest passages.
If you are using an EW-D wireless link instead of a guitar cable, with unity gain settings, the volume of the guitar in the guitar amplifier will be as high as it would be if using a guitar cable. Possible unity gain settings:
AF Out 18 dB | Gain 27 dB
AF Out 12 dB | Gain 33 dB
AF Out  6 dB | Gain 39 dB
