	I have done this in a few boomy rooms, however, the gate is not all that effective when trying to tame the room as opposed to cutting of the sample's sonic envelope. The decay envelope of the electronic kick is better reduced internally in the drum sound module you are using. This is typically done with the muffling and decay edit screens, if available in your module.
